Achievements & Leaderboards

Beyond XP and levels, Wambai rewards specific milestones with achievements and lets you see how you stack up on leaderboards.

Achievements

Achievements are badges you unlock by reaching specific financial milestones. There are 30 achievements across five categories:

Beginner Achievements (7)

Your first steps with Wambai:

• First household created
• First transaction logged
• First 5 accounts set up
• First budget created
• And more...

Progress Achievements (9)

Building consistent habits:

• 7-day streak
• 100 transactions
• 30-day streak
• 365-day streak
• And more...

Expert Achievements (7)

Mastering your finances:

• 30 consecutive days with a balanced ledger
• Monthly closing routine
• Budget goals reached
• And more...

Social Achievements (5)

Collaborating with others:

• Collaborative transactions with household members
• Top 10% on the leaderboard
• And more...

Special Achievements (2)

Unique accomplishments:

• Early Adopter — Joined during launch month.
• Night Owl — Logged transactions between 10 PM and 6 AM.

Achievement Rarity

Achievements have rarity tiers that determine bonus XP:

Rarer achievements are harder to earn but provide significantly more XP.

Viewing Your Achievements

Go to Profile > Achievements to see:

• All available achievements with their descriptions.
• Your progress toward each one (e.g., "15/100 transactions").
• Locked vs. unlocked status.
• The date you unlocked each achievement.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards let you see how you compare to other users. There are two types:

Household Leaderboards

Compare within your own household:

• Top Contributor — Most transactions logged.
• Streak Leader — Longest current streak.
• XP Leader — Most XP earned.
• And more...

These are great for friendly family competition.

Global Leaderboards

Compare across all Wambai users:

• Top Households — Highest total XP.
• Longest Streaks — Most consecutive days.
• Highest Level — Most advanced users.
• Achievement Hunters — Most achievements unlocked.
• Transaction Volume — Most active users.

Leaderboards are available for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and All-Time periods.

Privacy

Your privacy is respected:

• Nicknames appear on leaderboards, not real names. You can set your nickname in Profile settings.
• You can opt out of global leaderboards entirely from your profile settings.
• Achievement screenshots can be downloaded privately.
• Household leaderboards are only visible to household members.

Tips

• Check achievements regularly — You might be closer to an unlock than you think.
• Set a leaderboard nickname — Something fun that motivates you.
• Compete with your partner — Household leaderboards make finance tracking a team sport.
• Focus on consistency — Many achievements reward sustained habits, not one-time bursts.
